RAW Timelapse Workflow Tutorial, v2

Client: KesslerCrane
Credit: Talent and Editor

This is an updated version of my original timelapse tutorial. I take you from beginning to end on how to utilize Adobe Camera RAW instead of JPEG in your timelapse photography. The list below is for further learning and more resources. Many thanks to KesslerCrane for sponsoring this video and putting it on Kessler University! Check out my frequent collaborator Joe Pollock’s website as well, without him this tutorial could not have happened.

Thanks for the great info. My first TL worked great with the post processing info.
One question. Why do you set the intervalometer to 1 second?

  • http://theredowl.com/ TheRedOwl

Not necessary, just a personal habit of mine. One of which I’ve gotten more questions than expected haha!

  • Toni Benitez

    Hi, great tutorial. Thanks.
Which is the reason behind to use the Terminal to render AE projects? Is this also valid for other programs such as FCP?
    Thanks

Terminal is a tad bit faster. Time is money! No, this is not valid for FCP. FCP cannot process RAW image sequences.

      • Toni Benitez

        Ok, thanks.
My question was if it’s also better/faster to render FCP projects…I mean, it’s rendering thru terminal faster than doing so inside the program?

        • http://theredowl.com/ TheRedOwl

As far as I know, there is no way to render FCP projects with Terminal. Just AE comps.
